Product Description
β-Cyclodextrin, also known as cyclomaltoheptaose,
cycloheptadextrin, or β-CD for short, is a cyclic compound made
from starch extracted by microbial enzymes and composed of 7
glucose residues bonded by β-1,4-glycosidic bonds.
White or almost white crystalline solid or crystalline powder;
odorless, slightly sweet; soluble in water, hardly soluble in
methanol, ethanol, etc.; this product is stable in alkaline aqueous
solution, slowly hydrolyzes when exposed to acid, and its iodine
complex is yellow; the crystals are plate-like; it can form
inclusion compounds with a variety of compounds to make them
stable, solubilizing, sustained-release, emulsifying, antioxidant,
anti-decomposition, heat-insulating, moisture-proof, and has the
function of masking odors. It is a new type of molecular packaging
material.
